SPLIT TO PLITVICE LAKES
Since the Park is in the middle of the country, our tour guide will make sure to introduce our interesting local history while on ride. You’ll also have a short break to grab some breakfast and stretch your legs.
PLITVICE LAKES TOUR
The park consist of 16 lakes and we’ll start by exploring the Upper Lakes whose geological structure is mainly dolomite. There are many karst springs formed on the faults of permeable and impermeable geological formations, from which water springs abundantly.
Joining the panoramic boat ride, we’ll come to the Lower lakes, which are made of limestone. The plants create travertine rocks and change the shape of lakes. Travertine barriers are a biological phenomenon of extraordinary beauty which separate one lake from another. Without water, there would be no lakes, waterfalls, or lush vegetation.
Walking through this impressive nature heritage on beautiful wooden trails we’ll come to the main attraction, the tallest waterfall in Croatia, the Great waterfall where you can take amazing photos!
After this spectacular four hour long walk, we’ll take you to the family-run restaurant outside of the park where you can taste traditional dishes of the Lika region.
